How to Configure the Tableau Magento Connector
Follow these steps to configure the connector:
Step 1: Set Up Magento Connector Module
- Log in to your Magento Admin Panel.
2. Make sure that the folder Tableau connector is in the expected path as App/Code/ Webkul/Tableau Connector is extracted from.
3. Run the below commands in your terminal
php bin/magento setup:db-schema:upgrade
php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento cache:clean
Step 3: Configure Connector in Magento
- In the Magento Admin Panel, enter the Tableau credentials under the Tableau Connector configurations.
- Save the configuration.
Workbook Embed Code – To embed the tableau’s workbook, you need a unique code.
When you click the share button in Tableau, it provides a code to embed the workbook into third-party systems, like Magento.
- Select the project you want to import in your Tableau dashboard.
- Click on the share button.
- Copy the embed code from the popup screen.
- Paste it into the Tableau dashboard.
- To view the embedded workbook dashboard, Go to the Dashboard Page of the Tableau Connector.
Cron Job—A cron job is a scheduled task that runs automatically at specified intervals to sync your Magento and Tableau data.
Step 4: Mapping
- Initiate a mapping to ensure the connection is active.
- Mapping the Products, Customer, and Order attributes correctly between Magento and Tableau.
- You have to follow the same steps for Customer Attributes Mapping and Order Attributes Mapping.
